estimate to replace 1997 Accord transmission
Can anyone estimate the cost to replace a transmission for a '97 Accord? A
general ballpark figure would be great. Thanks. |

In the U.S., Texas, to be specific. It's an automatic, and I'm thinking
about buying it from a private party. The current owner just says that the "tranny is going out," so maybe it needs to be rebuilt and not replaced. I'm trying to figure-in the repair cost to the price. |

Do you know if he had it serviced at BooBoo Lube, and they've used non-Honda fluid (and actually wrecked it after xxx,000 miles)? Have you asked the Dealer where he takes it whether he's had all recalls performed? What's the mileage? Any chance he towed a trailer in the texas heat? (I don't actually know what a tranny swap would cost at Honda, but you could phone two or three dealers for a quote) 'Curly' |

Rebuilt = $3000
replaced = $2500 if you can find a good used one. "2wordsworth2" > wrote in message lkaboutautos.com... > In the U.S., Texas, to be specific.
