GPL audio problem
my in-car engine audio has suddenly taken on high pitched buzzing which isnt
normal. Third person views the audio is fine, replays are fine. Also every car sounds the same in-car wise, but outside they all have their normal differences. Re-installing GPLSoundV.5 isn't helping. Mods are GPL65 and GPLAIM. Ironically, my ferrari crashed and upon returning to the track after bouncing off the wall the sound returned to normal. But afterreturning to practice it started buzzing again. No other games are doing this, audio drivers are updated...what can this be? |

Well, these audio drivers are designed for the motherboard which utilize the Realtek AC '97 audio. I am using the latest drivers. From what I can tell, the software for the Realtek chipset doesn't include any hardware acceleration features, aside from the slight overclocking of the cpu and motherboard that I have done myself. It (iP4 3.0 - 3.4 GHz) has performed flawlessly like this for the last 4 years and has never exhibited any signs of erratic behaviour. Perhaps I should impose a set of horns on the scudo and call her BEEzelbub? ;-) |

I'd be surprised if there isn't a function there to turn down the hardware acceleration. Also, all GPL related sound tips are compiled at the GPL FAQ at http://forum.racesimcentral.com/showthread.php?t=105748 |

It was cranked all the way up. After turning down to no acceleration, not only did the sound improve, but frame rates smoothened out as well. Good call Uwe for the tip...and thank you Bob for telling me where the adjustment was. |
