Default abs light/check traction control

Desperate, bought lincoln continental from dealer, no problem no lights
drove fine. two weeks later abs light/ check traction control/ service
engine light came on. returned to dealer said just needs brakes, and
service engine light was because gas cap was on improperly inserted.
got new brakes and rotors all the way around, rusty back brakes. Car
was bumping when brakes were applied at first. Now car is shaking while
driving, bumping when attempting to stop. Worse than before brake job.
Told by mechanic/not dealer who sold the car to get rid of it. Load is
not setteling on wheels properly and causing imbalance. Please help,
can i still drive safely with problem until i can afford new one?
Check traction, abs, service engine light still on after brake job.

Man, don't you at least have to have a safety inspection or cert on a
'new' to you vehicle????

If so, talk to a Lawyer and the cops and have the sleaze artists charged.

You just plain got ripped off. Twice from the sounds of it.

Your vehicle does not sound like it has been safe for the road since
before you bought it and it certainly isn't now with the shakes and
failed braking system.

Too bad.

It's the law up here in Canada that any 'new' vehicle of any age someone
purchases has to have a safety certification before you can put plates
on it. It is a bit of a pain, but hey...

What about your local media?

Here the newspapers love stories about rip off car $tealerships and
sometimes the bad publicity will get results.

A BBB complaint is warranted at least...
