GPL (or other sim): is there a Tasman Series mod??
The question is in the Subject line and says it all, I suppose.
Many years ago (around 2003, I think) someone or some group was supposedly working on such a mod. Did it ever eventuate? Bruce |

Wouldn't F65-F2 be roughly equivelant to the Tasman series?
See my too many mods dilutes the grids rant of a few days a go. |

No, it wouldn't be.
And as I don't play online, I really have no concern about too many mods or grid dilution. BK "mcewena" > wrote in message oups.com... > Wouldn't F65-F2 be roughly equivelant to the Tasman series? > > See my too many mods dilutes the grids rant of a few days a go. > |

I just read Bruce McLaren's biography and it sounds like most teams simply shipped their F1 chassis down at the end of the european season, maybe with a different (smaller) engine installed then flogged the now obsolete cars to some backmarker at the end of the series. |

Well that's not precicely true, Bruce made a special chassis that was
smaller because of the lower fuel requirement of the sprint race format, but essentially the parts were interchangeable. |

Some did, that's true.
Others (including Ferrari) either constructed specific chassis/engine combos or modified existing F1 or F2 chassis to suit. GPL (or other sim): is there a Tasman Series mod??
>>>>>>Like 65 F2... >
>>>No, it wouldn't be. No, it wouldn't be much like 65 F2, the Tasman cars would be much faster. The 65 F2's had 1600cc hi-rev engines afaik, but the 67/68 Tasman cars should have 2.5 litre powerplants. Work on the 67/68 Tasman mod for GPL is still continuing afaik, I got a mail about it not too long ago due to some cooperation work with our GPL F2 Mod research So for the moment I'd say, keep your hopes up.
