Hi, Mike.

I think this must be from 1946 or later. In 1936 the Beetle hadn't
reached its final form, and the first Type 38 prototypes, which were
pretty much the car as we know it, didn't appear until 1938. These had a
different release mechanism for the front luggage compartment from that
on the car pictured here, though, so I suspect this is a picture of a
post war car..

Leroy, it looks the same as the 49 from Anthony H.
So that's what I changed the file name to.
That's what I get for trusting them on the year from where I got this picture!
