Default 156 door speakers

In previous discussions on here, it was said that intermittent front door
speakers in the 156 were often due to a dirty connector between the door wiring
and the stereo wiring. Can anyone tell me whether the connector lives in the
door or is it behind the trim in the footwell? I don't want to take the door
trim off unless I have to. Thanks!
