Front diff - prop side oil leak? --97 wrangler
I have 97 wrangler that has developed a oil leak on the fron diff surrounding the bearing where the prop joins any thoughts? ...and how easy? |

Hi Mick,
Not difficult, it's nice to have the right tools like pictured: http://www.billhughes.com/pinionSeal.pdf A steering wheel puller or less will pull the yoke, don't use a hammer, a screwdriver will pop the seal, find a pipe large enough to drive the seal straight on and flush with the housing, and torque to a hundred sixty pounds should put the right tension on your crush spacer for proper bearing clearance.
