This news release gives a bit more detail:
http://www.slightlymadstudios.com/20...to-new-genres/

That NFS Shift screenshot/render drives me crazy with anticipation. A
first-person sim/semi-arcade with some decently-modeled physics, fun and
varied tracks like NFS1 had (Lost Vegas!!!), the 'real car' feel of NFS5,
and the cutting-edge sound and graphics of farcry2 or crysis, would actually
make me buy a PC steering wheel which I haven't owned since giving away my
veteran-of-many-a-GPL-&-NFS5-race Thrustmaster T2 lo these many years ago.

God I hope they don't screw this up. The NFS name has so much promise,
and has been dragged through the mud so many times.

We'll see. It's being done by former Black Box.
