147 Air-con drain
My 147 needs the mod to the air con drain, to save the
passenger footwell carpet! Was in for its 3600 mile service yesterday, it's less than 3 years old (3 years next jan) so I was assuming they'd fix it. Ooh noo, 3rd year warranty doesn't cover air-con pipes. They wanted an hour of labour to do the job, £75. Did offer to do it for £50. I said I'd think about it! Anyone give me a pointer to any DIY instructions for this fix? I'd rather spend a few hours on it myself than pay the garage even more money. (The service cost £356. And now the sump oil plug is leaking. Guess which garage I might think twice about using after January?) Ta Dom. |

Do garages always overfill? Although it is hard to see, it's clean. They use 5w30, so it's thin oil too. dom. |

Under heat everything expands, so a bit over level with warm/hot engine just after an oil change is "normal" 5W30 (full) synthetic oil is what your engine needs in summer. -- Ciao from The Netherlands alfistagj (aka Gert-Jan) GT 2.0 JTS (2005) Montreal 2.6V8 (1428700 - 1973/4) |
