REPLY: It most likely will be less problematic than the older one even
given the mileage . It will surely be more responsive than the '76 ;
'76-80 were some of the slowest Corvettes in production . Providing the
'95 has had proven regular maintenance, it is a far better purchase in
my opinion -- the technology of latter C4's far outweigh the mid C3's .
It will be some time before it starts to appreciate in value though,
whereas the '76 should be increasing as we speak.

You should consider a good used C5 Corvette (starting in 1997) as the
technology, reliability, and performance is better still. Plus, youre
not talking much more money over the '95 ; ive seen decent C5's
advertised for $20 k. and less in my locale (chicagoland). Check out
www.CorvetteTrader.com and www.corvetteforum.com under the C5 for sale
site listing.

I made the decision to STOP playing with Motorcycles when I turned
50... should have done it at 45.... Anyhow like one of the other
posters I am in my mid 60's BUT I own 64 72 & 98 Convertibles and 76 &
79 Coupes right now...

Right up front I will tell you my 4 sp, low optioned, L48 Corvette is
my favorite Vette just to take out of the Garage and plain DRIVE...
combines good looks, good ride, and enough power to satisfy this old
man most of the time... Over all just a very enjoyable car to
drive... I sold my 95 6 sp car only because it was BLACK just could
not handle keeping it clean and honestly none of my Corvettes gets
driven unless thye are clean .. The only down side of the 95 was that
(like the other "older" guys aid it was an absolute bitch to get out
of..)... However I felt much more comfortable and In Control in that
car then I do in my C5 ... just did....

BTW 90K onthe clock is not a lot of miles...the engine was designed to
go 300,000 miles beofre needing a rebuild...hate to tell you this but
you may need a bank loan to buy tires for the C4 ...LOL

The prices of the C4's are still dropping and the 76 is just starting
to climb my guess is that in less then 5 years the 76 will be worth
more BUT the 76 will NEVER be as good a car as the 95 ..because it is
not... Heck I bet you could buy both of them for 20-25 grand total
and after 10 years you will have 2 cars still worth that price of
more... Buy'em both... LOL
