Default Braking problem

Hello,

I recently bought a new car, a 2004 Corolla. It drives well.

I had no problems with it until I put on snow tires a couple weeks ago.

Ever since then, when I am driving (in clear, dry, cold conditions) on
the highway I find that the car will sometimes slide to the right, or
shimmy from side-to-side as I brake.

The road is not icy at the time and this seems to happen only at
relatively high speeds (80 km/h and above).

Is it possible that changing the tires can put the wheels out of
alignment? Or does it have something to do with the new tires
themselves, which are obviously softer than my summer tires. Should I
bother taking it back to the garage that installed the tires?

Other than that, the car is in excellent condition.

Thanks for any help!

The last two times something like that happened to us, the monkey at the
tire shop had forgotten to tighten the wheels back on.

Wow. Guess I'd better go back to the garage then!
