Default Place your bets!

Taking my 2004 300m into the shop tomorrow. The problem is a
knocking/Cracking sound heard from what seems to be on the drivers side when
accelerating from a stop, and sometimes stopping. Happens much more when it
is raining. While playing around with the car tonight, to figured out the
best way to reproduce the effect, I noticed that while in park if I turn the
wheel all the way to the left, the right, and then left it makes the noise.
One single knock.

Let me know what they say. I have a 2005 Sebring that makes a knock
but unable to make it happen consistently.

Steering gear. My confidence level is only 75%.
