C.R.,I was over at D.Devito's place and he has what I thought was a 64
or 65 Dart,but could have been a Valiant,in his garage.Haven't seen the
movie,maybe same car.I think it was a convertible.

I had a 1968 Firebird with the Sprint option.

The Sprint option was a three speed full synchro tranny(actually a Ford part)
with floor shift. Six cylinder 250 CI (4.1Litre) 6 cylinder, headers, 4 bbl
carb, OHC with guess what? --A timing BELT

I actually broke one once and it was truly a mess.

Pontiac OHC engines came out before 1968 as a 235 CI displacement six cylinder
and that general design was discontinued in 1969. They had a lot of problems
with that engine. I had four major warranty repairs on mine before I traded it
off on a 1970 Mustang Mach 1 with a 351 Cleveland w/ "shaker" hood.

I recently watched "Cannonball Run." Funnier now looking back than it
was at the time. Jackie Chan looks exactly the same as he did back then,
and is about the only person from that movie that is still a big
box-office name!

But I digress: A Chevy Monte Carlo that makes Chrysler starter noises
(and makes starter noises even with both Mel Tillis' hands in plain
sight, not turning the key). A Dodge Tradesman ambulance that makes
manual transmission sounds sometimes and automatic sounds other times. A
Pantera that makes Ferrari sounds instead of Ford v8 sounds (only seen
briefly).

At least the Lamborghini and Ferrari both sounded right ;-)

Movie sounds have nothing to do with reality, Never have and Never will.
Just forget about it and enjoy the movie, that's what its all about.

I agree that there are careless errors that can be annoying, but there
are other things that have to be done in sake of saving time. I for
one, don't want to watch a movie or TV and wait 20 seconds for the
actor's radio to warm up!

My favorite is squealing tires when someone is peeling out on a dirt
road!
