That 2010 Taurus looks good to me.

Ford needs to sell well over 100K of these things per year, and it looks
like a winner. Not crazy about the front grille treatment, but with a
limited edition, I'd never have to look at it.

Nice interior approach. Driver's seat is beginning to look like a cockpit.

Not bad, I wonder if sales need to be high before a performance version
can be considered? Or would a Super High Output car help push those
higher numbers? Hmm, cart-horse, chicken-egg?

I agree this car is going to be one solid hit if it is priced right. It is
incredible! I never thought I would consider owning a Ford Taurus until now.
I happen to like the grill too btw. The rims are sweet too. The interior is
really nice and classy, not cheap looking by any means. Ford used to sell
over 400k Taurus's back in the day. Be nice to take the number one selling
car in the world title again. Oh and there already was talks about a SHO
using the ecoboost engine. Have you driven a Ford lately?

.....not happy to be obsolete so soon - thought they would leave it
alone longer, but they gotta do something to make them sell - it's
supposed to be their bread n butter car.

please pardon my ignorance and take a shot at all, any or none of these:

have a url for good info on it? - when I google 2010 Taurus I get a
lot pics of all sorts of things and very little hard info.

is it a rebody of the existing chassis, all new or ??? in the pics
I've found, there seems to be a MKS influence to the shape.......is the
MKS changing as well (making an "all new" Lincoln obsolete awful
quick)........is it just the angle of the pics I've found that make it
look like the windows have been cut down like a Chrysler 300? (hell,
the first thing that I liked about the 500/Taurus was the high windows
compared to competition - "airy" interior and headroom).

why does liking it make you old, Dwight? is it the heir to the Grand
Marquis mystique?

---------------------

while I'm spouting.....wow, am I getting my money's worth out of my
AWD!!!!! so far only about 10 inches of snow here (Ohio) but have been
driving on ice for a couple weeks......have yet to sense a single slip
of a wheel, while others are sliding all over the place. went to an
empty parking lot and tried to lock the brakes, did figure 8s, etc and
am just amazed at how competent the various systems are how they work
together!

I just go to www.fordvehicles.com every once in a while. Click on the "cars"
tab, and you'll see "2010 Taurus." Lots of photos in the gallery plus a
360-degree view.

It's built on that Lincoln platform. The rest I leave to you.

In between Mustangs, I spent a year with a 1989 Taurus and considered it a
god-awful old fart car. I got back to Mustangs as soon as I could. I've
always equated the bigger boats with old folks, don't know why...

Yeah, yeah... Some of us enjoy those wild and unpredictable fishtail
experiences.

Thanks, Dwight......duh, hadn't checked fordvehicles for a while!

On the old man thing: I have both a Taurus and a Mustang........having
had a few 'stang coupes, finally got a GT convertible as a retirement
present.to myself.......talking with friends before I ordered it, told
them I was gonna order a white convertible.....and was told "every old
man in Florida has one of those"......so I got Vista blue.

I like it as a toy, but heaven help me, think I like driving the Taurus
just about as much. Talk about one foot in the grave.......!

Me too, got a '00 Sable WAGON, talk about getting old! Makes a sedan look
youthful. But the price was right and it's been a good car so far.
But the '07 GT comes off the road as soon as the salt hits the road here in
N NJ so we have to drive something, GT out in the salt, no way, that's
blastfomy.
Gonna drive the wagon to the end, only 144k on it now and counting. A AWD
Taurus will
be it's replacement so the wife has a winter car while I'm off snowmobiling
with the 4x4.
Good to see a post that the AWD Taurus has good traction
