Water Marks
Had the Vette sitting out over night at the girl friends place. The
next morning I noticed water spots all over the car. Seems the sprinkler system went crazy and sprayed across the driveway hitting the back, side and front of the car. Couple of days later I washed the car but was unable to get the water marks off, I waxed the car, still couldn't get the water marks off. Anybody have suggestions as to how to get the water marks off? I used Meguiar's Mirror Glaze Hi Tech Yellow Wax, but can still see the outlines of where the water sat on the car… Thanks in advance for all replies to this.. Al 01 Pewter Conv. |

White Vinegar, diluted with water or preferably straight, on a very
soft cotton towel should help. Although you might have to remove the wax first by washing the car in something like Dawn, as all the wax will do is cover up the spots. You could also try Meguiar's Clear Coat Body Scrub as it has gentle abrasives that could help remove the water spots. Remember to wash and wax the car after you get the spots off. If you need more help, try out the Car Care section at www.c5forum.com or talk to the people at Meguiar's www.meguiars.com On 13 Sep 2004 19:44:40 -0700, (Al) wrote: >Had the Vette sitting out over night at the girl friends place. What I would recommend is the first step in the McGuire's three step
"Crystal Clear" wax system. It's called paint cleaner. Comes in a red bottle (as always.) It is formulated to remove any substances on the paint, including water marks. While you're at it, why not buy the rest of the set and finish the car the right way? It's the only wax I'll use. Takes some time, but the result is amazing.
