Default General acceleration Q

How do these cars get 0-60 times of 4.X or even 3.X seconds?

If my Mustang could hook, it probably could do something like that too, but 1st gear is pretty useless unless you're giving it a lot of clutch, etc., same with half of 2nd gear... you guys know what I mean.

Do these cars do it through suspension, tires, traction control, or a bit of each I'd guess?

Just throwing that out...

Brad

Traction control.
My '07 GT 5sp the traction control limits wheel spin a lot, not completely
but with it OFF you bang the chip in 1st gear tires spinning with no
problem. With it ON 20 ft of rubber then it hooks up. Big difference.

So, you cheat. lol. My old Fox just spins the tires. Aside from drag
radials I'm not sure what to do: it's a 5-spd, 3.27s, control arms.

Just out of curiosity, is there any way to lower 1st in the tranny. It's a
3.XX if I remember. 3.35?

Just looking for ideas.

Thanks.

B

A lot of folks suggested 4.10 for TFrog, but I never even considered it.
Dammit, I LIKE taking first gear up to 40mph, second to 65. I do enough tire
spinning with my stinkin' stock 2.73.

Of course, I'm not shooting for a 3-second trip down the strip, either...

you can get a 2.95 first gear but I think you need to replace the whole
input shaft. someone please correct me if I am mistaken.
