What the heck. Do what ever you want this forum isn't moderated. Here's what I've done. I took the oil pan off (hard to do, had to remove the exhaust) and removed the Oil Pump screen. I soaked the screen in gasoline and got a small tooth brush inside to get the oil residue and other gunk off the screen. Put it all back together, put a thicker oil in and the light went out and all is back to normal. Here's a further check list. *Sender good? Either replace it or check the pressure. *Pressure good? Either have a pro check it out. *Sludge buildup on the pickup screen? *Oil relief valve good? *Oil pump good? *Bearing wear? As engines wear, bearing clearances grow and reduce oil pressure but in a '92 that usually shouldn't be the problem. *Filter OEM? this helps in case the pressure intermittently drops. |
