Default 156 replacement audio ----always on?

My Y reg 156 previously had a Sony deck in place that worked even
without the ignition switched on.
I've tried to fit a Kenwood mask deck, one of the ones with a motrised
front panel that flicks over and back when the ignition is switched on
and off accordingly.
My problem is, because the supply to the deck is "always on", the mask
system is always live, and is proving of nil use as a deterent to
thiefs etc.
The Kenwood (although any such system would probably apply) doesn't
appear to have an option to over-ride the power supply and go into
sleep mode, so my question is how do I go about making the supply to
the Kenwood such that it is controlled off the ignition.
Help from just a general point of view, or anyone who's actually
tackled the exact problem, and there must be plenty out there, much
appreciated.
