Default ,54 GMC hydromatic carb question

My 1954 GMC Pickup truck just recently started flooding whenever
accelerator pedal is pushed too hard. It is probably something easy I
just don't know what to do to adjust carb. Help. thanks

This actually sounds a little backwards. If it's stumbling when you hit the gas, more
likely the accelerator pump on the carb is shot and it's getting too lean.
Accelerator pumps are part of a good rebuild kit. I've not worked on Chevy's, but
every carb I've seen can be tested in the following manner. With the engine off --

1. Remove the air cleaner.
2. Shine a flashlight down the barrel of the carb.
3. Push the throttle linkage by hand as if you were accelerating.

If you see a jet of raw gasoline shoot into the carb, it's ok. If not, the pump is
shot.
