Driver Gets 32 Years for
Fatal Crash

FORT WORTH, Texas - A Fort Worth woman will spend the next 32 years in
prison for a deadly mistake she made after a night of partying.

Police said 39-year-old Alisia Padilla was driving drunk last March when
she drove her car through a red light on Seminary Drive in Fort Worth and
slammed into three cars.

The crash killed 18-year-old Danielle Hooten and 24-year-old Cynthia
Revilla. Padilla’s husband and Hooten’s 1-year-old son were also hurt.
She was not seriously hurt.

Her blood alcohol level at the time of the crash was three times the
legal limit. An invitation from the birthday party she was driving home
from included the phrase “drink until we don’t remember what we do
tonight.”

“We had two or three witnesses that saw the defendant barreling up the
freeway,” Gill added.

But Padilla pleaded guilty before her trial began Monday. A judge
sentenced her to 32 years in prison. It wasn’t the maximum sentence, but
it ended a case that has dramatically changed many lives.
