My new Car - 1939 Opel Kapitän 4 Door Sedan - Rear interior.JPG [1/1]

Last week I bought this little baby, or should I say this old Lady, as the previous owner called
her.
In 1939 this was the car for the upper middleclass.
It was a modern car with unibody and OHV engine.
The engine is an inline 6 with 2473 ccm (151 CI) and 55 HP

The look is obviously influenced by the American owners, General Motors, but the size is only
85 - 90 % of an Chevrolet or Pontiac.
Length = 4620 mm (181 7/8")
Width = 1660 mm (65 3/8")
Higth = 1575 mm (62")

The was in use up to 1960. Then was parked for 30 years.
I have a certificate that prooves that the engine got a total renovation in 1959.
The rest of the car was restaurated from 1991 to 1994.
Since then nothing but ordinary service and a new radiator has been done to the car.

Some of the chrome parts, such as hupcaps and handles, need new chrome.
The engine leaks a little bit of water from behind the waterpump.

Besides that I am going to replace a few non original parts in the car.

I know, and I was rather surprised not to see one but I guess the Amiral was
above this in the range so maybe armrests were reserved for that model.
Still, it's a beauty even without any armrests and I'll bet it's comfortable
too. We expect to see lots of pictures....
