Default GTR : BUG DNF'd While Switching to AI Co-Driver

I'm running a 100% Offline season with stock tracks and gdb. My car is the
Compuware C5-R addon car with Johnny O'Connell as Co-driver. 2nd Driver set
to AI in Car select screen.

I ran Barcelona. I did first stint, switched to Johnny O in the first
pitstop setup page. After normal pitstop AI took over and drove next stint.
At the end of that fuel load the AI brought it in and I switched back to me
in pitstop setup and I drove the last stint.
In other words no problems. Worked great. Just like it's drawn up.

Ditto Magny-Cour.

My driving at Enna was a disaster. Clouted a chicane and punctured the right
front halfway through first fuel load. Went to the pits selected Johnny O.
Pitstop went normal (if long for the damage) Pitstop ended but car remained
stationary. Hit <<enter>> nothing. Thought there was a problem with the AI
taking control so I pressed the accelerator and got booted out of the race
and given a DNF.
OK thought maybe was because the damage was unreparable, although it didn't
say that.

Started Brno worked hard at Qualy and on setup, as I'd taken a hit in the
points because of the Enna DNF. Ran full first stint. No accidents. No
damage. Came in. Changed to Johnny O. Normal pitstop. Pitstop ended and car
didn't move, waited 30 seconds and didn't touch anything and got booted out
of race with a DNF.

OK this time I was ****ed. Not a scratch on the car. No way this is a
simulated mechanical issue. I'm sure it's a bug.

I ran a Race Weekend at Brno with a stock Saleen to see if it was a
Championship or add-on car issue. Same problem.

Any one else have this issue?
Any solutions?
Thanks
Rudeboy

It's very annoying. Especially since I was the guy here congratulating
SimBin for the Offline features that allow realistic 100% races and then
this comes up.

Oh and by the way. What have I heard since posting this bug on GTR's Forum
and emailing the Atari Help desk.
Silence.

I haven't run a full-length race yet....and I bought this sim on the basis
of the "save" option for off-liners such as ourselves.
But I will now adjust the race-length downwards and give it a try tonight.

Will let you know what happens.

Bruce.

Wasting precious development time on the three blokes in the world still
running that outdated POS OS just wasnt logical Uwe, and you of all people
know that

Just for full disclosure Atari (?) did get back t me fairly promptly from an
email to the Atari help line (the UK support in the back of the manual). So
that's good. Their reponse was to uninstall/reinstall. (Jeez they must take
their training from MicroSoft). Not wexactly a satisfatory answer in that
I'm sure it will fix it, as it worked out of the box, the problem is when it
reappears part way through the season again. I don't know if I'm in the mood
to start a 100% season again from scratch, especially with this possible bug
hanging over my head. If I do and it reappears I'm sure I'll be back here
blowing a gasket.

Oh, and when I went to uninstall, both from the shortcut and from control
panel, it won't let me as it says a required file is missing.
