Default Too much oil?

I think my oil change place put 6 quarts in my 1990 Ford Bronco when it
should be 5 quarts. What happens to an engine with too much oil?

That could be a bad thing. If there's too much, the crank throws will hit the
oil, and that's bad.

If there is enough for the crank to hit it, it can froth it up into
bubbles. Bubbles don't lubricate for crap....

Check it.
Too much oil is as bad or worse as not enough... if the crank hits the
oil, it whips up a foam that not only doesn't lube well but the oil pump
can't pump well.

Drain the excess.

Note: If your dipstick has a press on cap, make sure it hasn't moved
upwards that might cause it to look like an overfill that doesn't exist.

One quart extra is not going to break the bank. It takes more than that
to cause problems.

What if he trail rides his Bronco or drives in some place like San
Francisco with all it's hills.

That tilt could allow the crank to whip the oil to froth and blow his
engine.

I certainly wouldn't leave it alone, because I do such things with 'my'
Jeep, hills and off road that is.

Still take a lot more than a quart of oil to do it. If they were that
sensitive to over fill there would be a lot of engines out there with
blown seals in them. 3 quart overfill maybe, 1 quart is no problem
