Repairs and POR-15 finished!
Here's a little before and after.
Before pics http://www.geocities.com/co_big_chee..._before_07.JPG http://www.geocities.com/co_big_chee..._before_09.JPG After frame patch & repair http://www.geocities.com/co_big_chee..._repair_05.JPG http://www.geocities.com/co_big_chee..._repair_08.JPG 4 rear outboard body mounts fabbed and welded on http://www.geocities.com/co_big_chee...t_clean_01.JPG Frame with POR-15 silver http://www.geocities.com/co_big_chee...d_por15_03.JPG Other than some runs, and it being a pain in the ass to flip the frame when you have POR applied to one side, I'm very happy with the POR-15. |

Kevin S did pass the time by typing:

Looks good. I think I'd drill a couple drain holes, then make sure
they're clear from time to time like we do with car doors we don't want to rust out. >> Other than some runs, and it being a pain in the ass to flip the frame >> when you have POR applied to one side, I'm very happy with the POR-15. Not that it'll help you now, but when I did my CJ-5 I built a rack out of 2x4s using deck screws and put some casters on the bottom. The rack held the frame up on its side while I did rust repairs and painted one side, then flipped the frame over onto the other side and repeated. The casters, of course, let me move the damned thing around to work on it. It worked slick. -- Some conditions apply. YMMV. This message was packed by weight, not by volume. TWIAVBP, local variation may occur. Dramatization, not a real authority. Do not induce vomiting. No user-serviceable words inside. |

Nice to have a garage big enough to that type of work. I had to do the old
welding in the driveway to repair my rocker panels. I forgot to take pics of the before but when I get around to it I'll take pics of the after. Snow...
