Some spider bait:

VintageWerks aka Mario Gavazzi is a well know crook in the vintage VW
community. He'll overcharge, take too long, steal parts and/or your
car and does substandard work.
If you have an automobile that needs service, do not use this
business.

I am the owner of the 70 convertible.I have been getting emails today
saying: while it was not right out stated! BUT by the way it was
worded that the work done on MY car was done at and by Mario.I have
read what was said and I am not here to dog on anyone.I just want to
clear things up.While it is true that the car did need ALOT of work as
stated, luggage tray, wheel well ,kick panels heater channels and of
coarse floor pans.I did all the work myself,in my shop.Along with
stripping paint and so on.I took the car to have the finished body
work ( what was minor) and paint done.I have never painted and didnt
want to practice on this one.I have always done my own work on all my
cars. After it was painted I took it back to my shop and finished
everything else myself.Wireing, interior, seats,so on.The only other
thing on the car I DIDN"T do was the top.Yes it has one on it now.Yes
I was surprised to win 2nd in my class as there was ( many ) very nice
convertables there in my class. I built it as a nice restoration and
not a show car anyway. Also the hood does fit good and there is NO rust
or BONDO in this car now!! LOL Again I am not here to dog anyone, just
want to set things straight.

I think your convertible looks super nice!
I used to know a painter who could paint better than most and I had him
paint my 1976 Beetle that same color lime green as the factory. The paint
came out looking much better than the factory paint job, but his body work
skills needed a little help. Most could not tell but I could since I do a
little body work.
I hate it but I do it! lol

You have done well and thanks for clearing up the story
about your Convertible.

Keep it in good shape and enjoy it. One day I hope to find another one to
replace my silver '67 that I did not want anymore due to rusty floors.
I have found a '79 SB Convertible with less than 3K miles on it. It is now
running fine, it is gorgeous, heated garage kept but the first owner must
have sold the original seats. WTF???? I wonder about the original mileage
too!
But the car is almost perfect except for the slightest ding on the engine
lid and some scrub marks on the RR fender.
I would need a dedicated garage if the owners ever decide to sell it to me!

Yes, if you only treated every paying customer fairly, we wouldn't
have this discussion:
http://www.metwiz.com/ - look for Joan's bug.

You said Joan's bug had "show winning potential" as well and had
hardly any filler, all the rot having been replaced by metal by you.
Of course, we all know the truth now, after MetalWiz' analysis of your
work.
Hope you're right about the Bondo, Dave, but I doubt it.

Yes, Mario, this is your personal google site in that people will find
links like that when your name is googled. Well played.
You are a genius. (where's my rolling eyes emoticon??)

Sorry that we were misled on your car, as Mario's initial post said
otherwise. As you'll soon find out, if you don't know already, Mario
is a crook, liar, thief and rat *******. He stole nine grand from a
lady for a car that he slathered with bondo; hell, the frame head was
hanging on by a thread of rust when she finally got it out of his
shop.

Please notice that Mario claimed to have done your car in his first
post; I highly recommend that you tell him to go **** himself, as he
didn't set it straight later on, only used his usual "puppets"
rhetoric.
