Type 2 (Bus) rear wheel bearing removal
Has anyone removed the rear wheel bearings from a 1977 Bus rear
suspension? Can you tap out the old bearings or do you need a puller to get them out?

This page on my web site: http://www.nls.net/mp/volks/htm/mech.htm Look for: Bearing replacement on the IRS rear axle. The Type 2 is simialr, only bigger. Yes, you can drive the old bearings out.
