Headlight assembly removal on '97 Sable: please advise.
Chilton says remove three mounting bolts and assembly pull straight
out. Haynes says first remove bezel, then remove 4 mounting bolts (though it only shows 3 bolts in the photograph) and pull straight out. Bezel does not want to separate from rest of assembly. Removal of the 3 obvious mounting bolts results in passenger side assembly showing almost no movement - as though there *is* a 4th bolt hiding under the bezel. Removing the same 3 bolts on the driver side resulted in that assembly become very loose, but I still couldn't pull it out. There is enough wire length into the back of the assemblies to allow them to come forward, the loose DS assembly has me doubting the presence of a hidden 4th mounting bolt, but I'm missing a trick here, somewhere. Please help! John |
