Hey,

I'd love to, but rfactor dedicated server requires directx, doh. Sadly most
good server running windows 2003 doesn't even have direct3d enable, or the
video chip driver doesn't support direct3d. Even tho i have tried the
rfactor dedicated server on a box that has direct3d the rfactor dedicated
server crash when loading the track with some texture issue. When those
developper will start to create simple dedicated application. Damn even old
Papy sim use a GDI generic driver for is dedicated server. Rfactor is pretty
much the same thing has Nascar thunder is. Damn, even Nascar thunder
requires a sound card to lunch the dedicated application, is that stupid
enough for you?

If someone has a email directly to a developper at rfactor, please let me
know

How hard is it to set up, and how strong of a machine do you need? I haven't
even RUN the thing yet. I'll see what I can come up with this weekend...

Ok, I tried to host on two different servers. The first(winXP) gave an error
in
appver 0.6.5.0
This error was immediate, as soon as tried to run it.

The second server(win2k) gave a dialog box:"which game database to use". I
accepted the default and hit config. Got the dialog about which race, # of
players, etc. Looked at the options on the next page, removed a few of the
'helps', clicked on finish.
"error loading texture for material CEMZ"
Got a couple more similar errors as well. I assume that means my video card
isn't strong enough?

Still don't know why it didn't work on the other one(radeon7500 vidcard).
Oh well...I *tried*...

Can you run FirewallTest.exe (In main rFactor folder)? I believe it
tells you what ports (UDP + TCP) it wants..
