Dedicated acvw shops have gone extinct in the Chicago region. I'm sure there's a good number of mechanics out there that still know acvw's well, but they work for more generic shops which makes finding them difficult. If you do dig one up who's willing to take on acvw work, send along his name/phone number. |

This guy's shop does high quality repair work on AC VWs. He recently had his beautiful '52 Split featured in the August issue of VWtrends. I met him at a VW show and photographed his Bug -- nice guy. http://www.vwbug.com/cgi-bin/gi_v1.cgi?a=16&b=22 Rich VWbug.com |

It's one of the ones I was trying to find, but the phone number I had was no good and when I tried to find the place, was unable to. Drove up and down whatever road he was supposedly situated on three or four times and couldn't spot the place. |
