Default Timing Belt Change

Anyone have any suggestion mileage for a timing belt change on a 1997 SC2?
Thanks, Mark

1,000,000,000 or 500 years. Which ever comes first.

If the oil has been changed regularly, then the timing chain should in
theory last the life of the engine. There is no recommended service
interval to replace the chain that I've been able to find.

No belt, Mark. Your car has a timing chain.

Thst said, if you're taking the heads off for a rebuild or head gasket,
and have over 200,000 on it, it's pretty cheap and easy to replace the
chain and guides.

Or, if it's noisy.

But, timming chains tend to last forever, and tend to give warning
before they go (i.e., they get noisy). Belts like to snap or skip at
random. Ask a few Honda owners...
