it does look like an airbag computer, but it doesn't look like the ones for
a miata, or at least it is incomplete. a quick search on ebay lets you see pictures of what airbag computers for the miata looks like. With very few exceptions, my favorite science fiction was written between about 1940 and 1960, and Simak is one of my favorites. Pat |

My 99% positive that it came from the 1990 miata just went way down. That miata did not have ABS. Also, did Mitsubishi make any of the electronics for the Mazda Miata? I also found a distributor for an 8 cylinder in with the Miata parts, and I have never owned an 8 cylinder, so I have a new mystery to figure out. Hmmmmm..... Pat |

airbag or abs, the pictures of items for the miata on sale on ebay don't
look like this animal. it looks similar to the miata airbag computer but the ones i have seen have another part attached with seem integrated into the shell. i think the op could figure it out by browsing airbag and abs computer listings on ebay until one shows up. Thanks Chris, I am the OP, but I am not sure how to browse Ebay auctions..... ;-) I'll figure out what it is one of these days. It's probably some part that the factory charges $300.00 for, whatever it is. Pat |

heck, this thread has become so long i forogt who posted it. perhaps it
came from the same care that v8 distributor you have the na01 marking certainly makes it apprear that is would be a miata part but who knows. just search ebay for "abs computer" or "airbag computer" and then look at each listing one by one... tedious, but where else can you get such specific information of a part and picture? the part numbers themselves do not return any results from google. if it isn't one of those two computers then what else could it possibly be? i figured it out...
it is a 90-97 cruise control module. How much do you charge? :-) This will let me finally sell the cruise control from the 1990 model, as well as quickly identify the module that is still in my 1996 model. To sell it as a complete system, I know that I would need to include this module, the cruise control unit itself, and the switch. Are there any parts to the cruise control system that I am not thinking of? These should do fairly well, especially the one from the 1996 model. People seem to like the OEM cruise controls, I know that the one in my 1996 "M" edition worked great. Thanks again, Pat |

If you stop or go below 25mph you cannot resume the previous speed, you have to reset it. It's unlike any other cruise control I've ever used and it's very annoying! Does the 1996 work the same way? |
