I still have the same -73 metal grey standard Beetle with self made sunroof I bought 2002 (when I started lurking at RAMVA). Due to weather it is driven only between May and October. I use it mostly to drive to work on sunny days. We also have an annual two nighter weekend trip with my friend, we call "Kuplareissu" (Beetletrip). Three Beetles (-70, -72 and my -73) running some planned round trip including two cities that will have the pleasure to provide us accommodation, good food and some bewerages... This year was the trip number 8. Initial plans are that trip number 10 would be to Wolfsburg, Germany. We will see about that. A picture taken on our trip this year. I am not in the picture (behind the camera ) http://olammi.iki.fi/olammi/kupla/kuplareissu_2012.jpg What else? Wife, 2 kids (8 yo girl and 5 yo boy), bank's house with a garage. --- Olli |

So just to clarify, yes, I was dumb and hopped on the marriage bandwagon... but I am sitting here happily staring at my divorce papers not that I feel like putting the effort in to filling them out, but I want to be divorced already! What was I thinking not marrying a VW guy????!?!?!?!?! So now I am jumping on the divorce bandwagon lol. At least there are no children involved! So, yeah, the prius isn't really mine even though it is in my name, it is his... I am still 100% true in my vw ownership. I have never personally bought anything but a vw for myself... And yes, I was in Canada AGAIN... visiting another RAMVAite Todd... I would have also visited Peter, but he was in BC... I would stay in Canada forever if they would only let me I keep in touch with Peter and Kirin. I believe Kirin is also in touch with Anna. I guess since Jan is the only other person I really keep in regular touch with then I am only keeping in touch with the foreigners eh? Glad to see some more familiar names... seems harder to keep up with this now than it was 10-15 years ago. |

Wow! How great to hear from you! Glad all's well. Wish I'd had the opportunity to meet you and Jan when you were in Miami, but hey, that's life. 26 VWs? Wow. Great to see what seems to be more activity here. Hope we all keep it up. BTW - anybody remember the fellow out in Las Vegas? I know he was a regular poster, and i even met him and his wife IRL when I was in Vegas (maybe 17 years ago), but for the life of me I can't remember the nam. |
