I know it is a 1.8, not a 2 litre, but condition and price seem
reasonable.

Don't know if I'll bid on this as I still need to sell the Saab, but
just trying to get a footing on what is worth what, and what models to
look out for if I should find one?

Do it, YKIMS.

OK, so it's a bit down on power compared with a 2lt, ISTR it's 10-15bhp
down.

However, and this is a big one:

The Silverstone is a pretty rare edition built to homologate the
aerodynamics package for BTCC - so it has an adjustable front splitter
and rear wing. Which is nice.

They also have a special interior trim package.

I pointed it out to Catman last night on ICQ, 'cos it looks like it
could be a bargain.

Don't do it... it's a narrow body 155. The starting bid is more than I'd pay
for a 155 1.8... you'll lose money on it... and the narrow ones really are
crap compared to the widebodys...

It's also a Silverstone, and it's still red (rather than faded pink), so
it's a grand's worth all day.....

Where are you in the UK, then - Merseyside or something, isn't it?

I'm up in Manchester at the weekend, and would suggest you, me and PeteM
should get together for a beer Saturday afternoon or something.
