The replacement, the LaCrosse (or Allure in Canada ) comes with either the old 205hp 3800 V6 or a 255hp four-cam 3.6 litre six, naturally aspirated. (same as in the CTS). The Pontiac Grand Prix comes with the 205hp 3800 or a 260hp supercharged version, but in 2005 we will see a 5.3 litre V8 with cylinder deactivation replace the blower motor, which produces approximately 290hp while being lighter (as the 5.3 is all-aluminium). The 5.3 should eventually make it's way into the Impala and Monte Carlo SS's, and I would expect it in the police versions around the same time - to defend Chevy's crown now that the 345hp 5.7 litre Magnum is up for bids... -- ---------------------- http://www.saab-900.tk The Saab Tech Resource ---------------------- |
