China has been building Jeeps for years. All they get with Hummer is a
low-end entry ex-military vehicle :-p


Seriously,though, the Hummvee is not going to be the military truck for
much longer. Aside from that, the military Humvee was built by AMGeneral
(formerly AMC's heavy truck division, but for many years now a division
of LTV Aerospace.) GM never had *ANYTHING* to do with the military
Hummvee, except supply it original (****ty) 6.2L diesel engine. AMG
bought the GM diesel design and has continued developing it under the
name Optimizer. It no longer has anything to do with GM either.
