That's who he looks *GOOD* to... Um, Obama, that is... Obama is driving through the city and he sees a girl with a basket and a sign that says "Free Kittens". He tells the driver to stop, and gets out of the car. He asks the girl how old the kittens are, and she says, "They're so young, their eyes are still closed." So he asks her what kind of kittens they are and she says, "Democrat kittens". Well, he thinks this is pretty cool, so the next day he gets a few friends and some people from the press and goes back to the same street. Sure enough, the girl is still there with her basket and the "Free Kittens" sign. He tells the driver to pull over, and he and his entourage get out and go up to the girl, and Obama says, with that big, broad grin, "WHAT kind of kittens are they?" And the girl answers, "Republican kittens!" Obama is a bit shaken and says, "But, yesterday you said they were Democrat kittens!" And the girl answers, "Yes, but today they have their eyes open..." |

If you voted for Obama in 2008 to prove you’re not a racist, you’ll have to vote for someone else in 2012 to prove you’re not an idiot. I can't wait till this guy is voted out of office..... |

Obama says trucks must do better
> I agree with you that it absurd to think that truck makers haven't been > listening to their customers for the last several decades. Fleet owners have endorsed the idea with open arms... they stand to save a ton of money. The engine makers have spent the last several decades being forced to make their engines run cleaner, which they wouldnt have have done without a government mandate. Now it's time to make them more effecient. Absolutely no harm in that. Ben |

Now it's time to make them more >effecient. >Absolutely no harm in that. Well, it's interesting to see what happened in the seventies when the first emissions standards came out. The first couple generations of emissions control systems were pretty dreadful and resulted in dramatic decrease in efficiency and performance. But by the eighties, manufacturers started to get forced into adopting closed loop controls technology which wound up making dramatic performance improvements as well as huge improvement in emissions. Forcing higher standards causes manufacturers to take risks on technologies that in the end are apt to improve vehicles. Taking risks is not something that manufacturers want to do, and sometimes the short-term results of some of these risks are pretty awful even if the long-term results are beneficial. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra.
