Yeah - but - bull**** - Mark - A base Corvette, which ain't lackin', really,
in nothin' lists, with Kerbeck, at $44K+ You started stickin' options on
it..... ain't the same thing. If you don't opt for the Performance axle
there is no difference in price between a 6-spd and an automatic.....

This ain't my first car "rodeo," having lived in, or spent significant
time in all 50 states, and having bought NEW Corvettes in 4 states.....

Everyone starts running their heads up into the clouds, or other parts and
forget that a stock C4 that's running properly will still out perform 95-97%
of what's on the road.

Try finding a no-option Corvette on a dealer lot.

Really not hard to find the 2005 coupe on the lot at $44/$48, but most were
$51/$55K.
The were also 80 to 150 miles away from this country location.

Another Old guy here. Before I gave away my C6 spot, I looked at the
coupe and was surprised to find that it was the same or less than the base
price on the C5 Coupe that I bought. But I wanted the sport seats and HUD
in the 1 SB package. On the C6 the 1 SB package has lots more stuff and is
something like 3 times as expensive ($1,200 vs. $3,400 or so??) Of course
you do save the $895 on the manual transmission that is no longer charged,
but at the end of the day if you want a few options, I think you get a lot
of options, and a higher price.

YMMV.
