Default Miata-Interior Scratches/Suggestions?

Hi All:

My 2003 Miata has signficant scratching of the dark grey/charcoal
colored center console area (storage box located under elbow extending
to gear shifter). Does anyone have any opinions and/or or experience
with "touching" these scratches up?

I was thinking about using some black shoe polish and kind of blending
it in on the scratch lines...just curious if anyone has any better
ideas.

Thanks in advance!

R

The darker plastic colors seem to show scratches as lighter in color than
the surrounding area. A heat gun (used carefully) may help. Plastic spray
paint is available. I don't know about exact color match, unless you send
the part to a paint mfr. (Tower paint)
Sometimes a very mild plastic solvent will help. I'd remove the part, sand
or buff the scratch, and repaint with a plastic paint. (Or, just order a
replacement.)
