As far as I could see, there wasn't any air conditioning fitted. And no tint to the perspex. The car has huge presence, though, and is a magnificent example of what was possible if you were wealthy and loved cars in the middle of the last century. -- Regards Leroy Curtis Please replace "nospam" with "baram" in my address if you wish to reply by Email |

Maybe England just doesn't have enough warm days to worry about stuff like this but in 1954 Ford built a really sexy looking hard top convertible coupe with a slightly tinted glass section over the driver and passenger. This was in the days when A/C was rare and seen only on the finer cars. The glass was stationary and not comparable to a modern sliding sun roof which would typically have a sliding panel inside to block off the sun entirely. Consequently the Fords were almost undriveable on some days. This Rolls looks to be awfully close to the same problem. -- Pat |

It must have been extremely hot inside during summer on the French Riviera. Reading the caption again, though, it did have air conditioning and a removable blind. -- Regards Leroy Curtis Please replace "nospam" with "baram" in my address if you wish to reply by Email |
