Drats!!! The hardcoat is what Daniel says it is. Used to deal with a similiar process for the lenses that cover displays on consumer electronics. That said, some folks in the mustang newsgroup sprayed their headlamps with regular automotive clearcoat. Supposedly it offered protection and they didn't have to polish anymore. (well up to the time they posted ) I dunno what this does to the optics. It can't be good. But then again, the question should be is it worse than the cloudy lens? |

Perhaps you might try this: http://www.por15.com/product.asp?productid=246 or this: http://www.por15.com/product.asp?productid=261 Call the company to find out which one's most UV-proof. |

Seriously, a couple of hundred bucks for head light assemblies won't bother me too much - though I'll gladly take the money if they offered - but I'd really rather be reimbursed for the 2nd transmission overhaul I had to have done a few years ago because they didn't do a proper overhaul the first time when they had to correct a failing clutch piston (IIRC, some lame-brain engineer had thought that using aluminum for that part would be a really cool idea; practice proved otherwise). * DROF (FORD backwards) = Driver Returns On Foot. |
