early ford VIN
Does anyone know where I would find the VIN on a 1915 ford and is there
anywhere I can get info to decode the VIN ; IE: assembly plant,date of manufacture,options,body style ETC. Any info would be great THANKS.............DAN |

There was a serial nbumber, stamped into the frame on the left side behind the radiator. That can be used to determine the date of manufacture - plug it into the search engine at http://www.model-t-ford.com/tsernum.htm . There is no data encoded in the number. Rechecking that web site, it appears that the engine also has a serial number, located immediately in front of the radiator hose. You can see part of one in the left photo on this page -- http://www.model-t-ford.com/tdate.htm . The arrow in the right photo points to the location of the frame serial number.
