Default Louvers -- Retro Cool, Or not?

I've always liked them. And on this particular car, I think they look
great.

Side note: Next to Highland green being the best color, I think this
gold is a close second.

I like them. The one in the picture looks pretty good.

I had a brand spankin' new '79 chevy monza hatchback (Spyder - Ooo Aaa,
minus the ugly decals). I put one on to hopefully reduce the heat in the
car. It worked. I was living in Tampa at the time. I also liked how it
darkened the inside of the car too.

However, it was quite the POS. The thing mounted at all four corners,
under the window trim, using double faced tape. Needless to say I had to
replace the tape every 9 months or so. After a couple of years I got the
window tinted. At least it didn't rattle! I don't remember the brand.

If this one mounts like that, my recommendation is: Don't buy!

I like the look of them a lot,

I think it would spoil a fair amount of the effect of having a glass
roof.

Otherwise it's just personal preference.

I would have prefered the dark green metalic of the early 70s over the
candy red met. but that's just me.

The mounting is always the issue. I wouldn't want to drill holes and I
wouldn't trust adhesive tape.

But I'm sure aftermarket companies have to meet the same safety
standards as the manufacturers, so loosing your louvers isn't likely
to happen. (I also don't think drilling is required.)

The perfect fit! The stylish MRT Rear Window Louver completes the
natural lines of the 2005-2012 Ford Mustang without compromising rear
window visibility.

The curvature of each louver slat is designed to produce a tight,
flowing look and an arc that complements the rear window. Each slat is
tastefully rounded for a muscular look that makes an aggressive
statement without seeming pointy, gaudy or cheap. In addition, each
slat features a smooth, seamless surface—free of distracting rivets
and protruding hardware. MRT integrated this last feature during our
re-design of the hit "original" MRT Rear Window Louver. During that
process, we drew on our aftermarket experience, engineering expertise,
and feedback from customers like you. The result? The aftermarket's
best-in-class Aluminum, Hinged Rear Window Louver got even smarter.

With our rigorous engineering process (and a little creativity), MRT
offers you quality, style and convenience that begins the second you
open your Mustang Louver package. MRT Rear Window Louvers come powder-
coated satin black and ready to install. The louvers may be painted to
your taste, but the powder-coated black finish will look presentable
on your Mustang as-is. The MRT louver features a patented one piece,
aircraft-grade aluminum design that is lightweight and durable. The
louver's hinged to allow you to easily lift it up for cleaning. The
included MRT Prop Rod Kit makes handling the louver a one-person job.

The MRT Rear Window Louver requires no sheet metal drilling or other
modifications to your Mustang during installation. A Louver Hardware
Kit is included and will provide you with the instructions and
materials you need. MRT Rear Window Louvers are 100% made and
engineered by MRT in America.

It actually is a plus. It looks goos, and it helps block UV which
bleaches your interior, and at the same time it helps reduce heat
buildup while sitting in a parking lot. I would want them.
