Default advice please ? / 84 c-4

I have an 84 c-4 with removable one piece top.
I have replaced the weather stripping across the top of the
windshield.
(where the removable top sits)
The weather stripping is just popped into the groove and not
clued or sealed.
(is it suppose to be ?)
Have had the windshield replaced and new windshield kit
installed.

I am getting wind noise and water is coming in the top.
(between the removable top and the windshield)
any idea as to how I can stop this from happening ?

thanks in advance for any help with this matter.

g'day to all

My 95 manual indicate that adhesive is used in the retainer, so I would
say that is where your leak is.

Thanks for your response Bob.
I will try putting some adhesive in the retainer.

Did you have the problem before the windshield was replaced? I think that's your
key, it was done wrong. They put 2 new windshields in my C5 before they got it
right, to thin to take out without breaking them. The first one was done at my
house and the installer didn't replace all of the sealer on the corners because
"someone really messed this one up at the factory" was his comment. When he got
done I took it for a drive and it sounded like the windows were open. Wouldn't
sign off on the repair and said it would not be driven like that so cough up
some transportation until you fix it right. I had to take it to their shop the
next day and I took the manual with me where it shows the extra sealer. The
problem was that the glass sunk into the sealer to deep and then the removable
top seal would not set high enough to seal the top frame. There is also 2 or 3
extra beads of sealer applied about 10" in from both corners to help keep the
seal high enough to seal the corners. After that the top sealed just as it did
when it was new.

yes, I had the problem before the windshield was replaced.
I thought having it replaced would solve the problem.
(wrong)

Thank You for your reply
I will pass this on to my glass guy.

g'day to ya
