heavy vibration in 98 accord problem
I reversed in a parking lot and switched into drive. When I came to a
stop my car vibrated horribly. It vibrates loudest when it is in gear at idle or at low revs. WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM? I have been told that it could be a damaged motor mount. If so how difficult and costly would repair be? |

If so how difficult and > costly would repair be? There has been mention in this NG before about Accord using at least one dynamic engine mount that varies in stiffness according to need. At http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com it looks like one of the engine mounts have vacuum hoses going to it and a valve assembly associated with it. Perhaps there is something wrong with this system in your car? |

If you figure it out let me know. My 97 vibrates significantly on
hard acceleration in low gears, smooths out as the rpms rise. I have tuned it and visually the motor mounts look OK, although I don't know how to determine when one is bad.
