Default 1984 c4 hot starting problem

I have a 1984 c4 in pretty good shape and is very clean. When it is
hot and parked for a while it is like it is flooded and it don't start
too well. It has been tuned up recently and a new EGR valve and EGR
solinoid installed. When it is running it runs perfect and smooth, it
just don't start good hot.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Steve

try running some good fuel additive like
"Lucas Upper Cylinder Lubricant and Fuel Injector Cleaner"
through it and see what happens.
http://www.lucasoil.com/products/dis...tid=2&loc=show
or
http://tinyurl.com/ljvzj

it will also clean you tank, fuel pump and fuel lines.
you might need to change your fuel filter after ya get it
cleaned out.

Yes. It was the Chevy dealer that did it. They used a solvent to remove
the carbon, and suggested that I drive the car for a long drive to clean
it out. I drove From Tucson, to Wilcox and back, and bought a really
good apple pie in Wilcox. :-)

They said if that didn't work, they were going to use crushed walnut
shells or something like that. It has been more than a few years, so I
don't remember the details exactly. I kept the car for several years
after that, and never had any more problems with starting it.

Excuse my ignorance of the 84. Does it have a QudraJet carb? If it does,
sounds like the secondary metering well plugs are leaking. If not kindly
hold your rusty starters and just delete this. I have CRS and don't remember
when they introduced the cross fire injector.
