Hey! Watch those "bum leg" comments...I'm just glad that it's my right

the guy paints & then says "now the outside looks like the inside.", then

Maybe you should consider buying a driver with a half decent paint job
you could live with for a while that needs to be mechanically spruced
up.

I'm in process now with a '66 El Camino like that, and it's great. I
couldn't afford to buy a show queen, nor do I want one. I use it for
Home Depot trips and cruising around, then take an occasional week or
weekend to do a teardown and resto of a specific area of the car.

It's easier for me to part with money a little at a time than dropping
it off in the shop for a year and waiting, plus it's more fun.

You hit the nail on the head. I reached the same conclusion ... now I need
to figure out which year(s) to look for and have at it.

Actually the input from everyone on theis board has been helpful ...
especially for someone just starting out.
