Default 1995 S10 blazer P0401 fault

My S-10 blazer (V6 4.3 4x4) has a fuel odor when parked in confined space,
a fault code P0401 (EGR system, already replaced the EGR vaulve), and a
buzzing or spinning sound from under the driver side of vehicle near fuel
tank when running. Fuel milage is terrible (about 270 miles to a tank).
Naturally the service engine soon light stays on because of the code
fault. The other day it started stalling immediatly after starting,
however if I allowed it to warm up (around 180-200) it ran fine. Is my
fuel pump going bad or is there something else I should focus on?

Thanks,
Charles
