Why the hating on Carl Taylor/Rogers?

I'm just a bit naive on this sort of thing, so if someone could fill me in OBJECTIVELY, without injecting personal feelings or agendas, it would be appreciated.

A 'speed kills' true believer who liked to troll.

Basically he believed his speed (70mph on limited access highways
regardless of the PSL) was the best speed. He thought those who went
faster were maniacs and driving slower than that annoyed him. Thus he
opposed the 55mph speed limit but anyone doing 80mph was worthy of his
scorn.

Essentially a usenet embodiment of the typical american busy-body
control freak who wanted to have what was best for him as best for
everybody.

his posts are generally totally related to promoting HIS website.
Like HE IS the only word on roads.
He rarely replies to a thread that discusses anything but his wesbite.
He's just one of those posters who has good intentions, but kind of makes
it annoying at the same time.

That sounds more like a reason for ignoring than for expending time
and energy hating on.

But I haven't seen any sign of either Mr. Taylor or the hatred of him
since beginning to lurk here. It's possible that filters I set in
other groups have removed both.

I should add I was describing Taylor.

Rodgers I think is the guy always promoting his website of photographs
of roads. He's just a minor annoyance and easily ignored.
