Default 1999 Concorde quik-fix anecdote

Travelling at 60 mph, with cruise engaged, the speedo flatlined after
noticing the cruise's dropping out. Suspecting either the input or output
speed sensor, I limped the car 20 miles to home.

Consulted my AllData subscription and what I had read here also. I ordered,
from Advance Auto, an input sensor. Called a friend abou using his place, 15
miles from here, and after his come ahead, went to parts store. They scanned
diagnostics first b4 actual purchase. Ooops, it was the output. So $25
lighter in the pocketbook, went to the friends and replaced the defective
unit. Nice simple fix.

Only bad part of the story is distance traveled in limp mode would have
gotten AT quite hot. Consider changing fluid.

If you had read the posts here more carefully, you would have knonw that
if speedometer is affected, it's the output sensor! Glad it was the
problem and you got it fixed.
