Unmarked OPP car on 401 in London Ontario (it's a Dodge Caravan)
The OPP in the London area have an unmarked Dodge Caravan trolling the
401. Be on the lookout this thanks giving (friday to late monday evening) for operation "Highway Thievery" The minivan is dark blue or green in color (I think green). It's a Dodge Caravan. If you approach it from behind and look carefully at the rear hatch, you should be able to see a horizontal light bar mounted behind the rear window glass near the top. The bar will be about 3 feet long and only a few inches high. If it's lit up, it has red and white lights. I don't know what lights it has in the front - probably hidden in the grill and behind the wind shield. No lights on the top. The license plate is 4 letters, a space, then 3 numbers. I think the 4 letters are AKEY (or some combination of A's and Y's) and the 3 numbers are 523. So basically look for AKEY 523. Watch near the Highbury exit, or 20 km on either side. It will probably be moving with traffic, and will come up behind you, using moving radar. I guess it could also be parked on the side of the highway, but the piggies don't like doing that because they have a habbit of being rammed up the ass from behind by sleepy truck drivers. |

Ladies and Gentlemen (and I use those words loosely), Drive Guy said in

Is it legal for a police vehicle to disguise itself with civilian tags like that or do all govt vehicles in ON just get the same style tags that every one else gets? |

Luckily, those of us in ca.driving (California) don't have to worry about unmarked cars pulling people over for traffic infractions. Besides that, I don't see how a Dodge Caravan is going to catch anyone. Sucks to be in Canada, I guess. |
